Feel your feet lifted off the sand and into the clear blue sky with an introductory flight lesson from our 30-foot dune. You will learn basic flight techniques as you launch, fly, and land, gliding around 5 to 10 feet above the ground. Your USHPA-certified flight instructor will run beside and below you as they teach you to control the glider.

 

Our Dockweiler State Beach training site is conveniently located near the airport. An introductory flight lesson is a perfect thing to do during a layover at LAX or when you're looking for a fun outdoor activity in Southern California. It's also the first step toward learning to hang glide solo. Spend the day with friends or family and learn to fly together!​

Beach lessons last around 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the size of the class and your number of flights. No experience needed to fly!
